Miami

Miami is an international hub of cultural diversity and world class offerings. Its sunny weather, golden beaches, Art Deco character and lively nightlife make Miami world famous. Also known as the gateway to the Americas, the 24 km of golden beaches make Miami different to other cities. It is popular with all ages as there is a lot of appealing tourist attractions to fill up your holiday.

Where to go

Get lost in Vizcaya museum and gardens. A National Historic Landmark and accredited museum which is absolutely breathtaking. Witness an abundance of brides and quinceaneras have their photos taken here. Or surround yourself with greenery at Vizcaya’s European inspired gardens, which are amongst the most elaborate in the United States.

Experience the sights and sounds of Miami’s vibrant little Havana neighbourhood on a guided food tour. Explore this lively Cuban district and learn about its fascinating history and culture. Stop off at some of the best known family owned and operated Cuban restaurants. Sample cuisine including guava pastries, chicken plantain cups, flan and ice cream. Also, meet some of the street artists and watch skilled Cuban cigar rollers whilst listening to traditional music.

For something different away from the beaches, consider spending an afternoon shopping along the Miracle Mile, or marvelling at the unusual architecture of the nearby Coral Castle.

A holiday to Miami isn’t complete without a visit to South Beach. A quintessential Miami hot spot. From shopping to partying this is a trendy area where you can flop and drop on the beach. Take in the Art Deco architecture or party with the Miami Beach nightlife.

What to do

Miami zoo is fast gaining a reputation for becoming one of the best zoos in the nation. Its climate allowing it to keep a wide range of animals from Asia, Australia and Africa. One of the first free range zoos in the country, the animals are entirely cageless.

Formerly known as Parrot Jungle, Jungle Island offers visitors a fun, educational visit. Get up close to the tropical birds in replicas of their natural habitat.

With acres of swamps, saw-grass prairies and sub tropical jungles. The Everglades National Park is one of the more unusual public parks in the United States. The park is home to 14 rare and endangered species, including the American crocodile. Step onto a water boat for the thrill of a lifetime.

Step into a scene that is straight out of Miami Vice with a high octane speedboat adventure through the port of Miami. Reach speeds of up to 45/50 miles per hour as you cruise by some of the city’s most eye catching sights. Ride the waves through Biscayne Bay, past Monument Island and over to Star Island. Slow down here and marvel at the sights of million dollar homes.

When to go

High season in Miami runs from November to April whilst temperatures in the winter months are mainly in the twenties.

So whether you’re into sport, sunshine or salsa, Miami sizzles all year round.  A hit with everybody making Miami a fun holiday destination.
